Lodewijk “Lo” Woolridge-Jones is the founder of Md Barbers and Stylist, LLC and A Shade Above Unisex Barbershop and Beauty Salon. He is a retired military veteran who has aspirations of becoming one of the industry leaders in men’s grooming and hair design. Lo has a Graduate degree in Computer Science specializing in Network Security, but his passion has always been in styling and grooming men’s hair.Lo is a “licensed” barber and has been styling and cutting men, women and children’s hair since 1991. He made the decision to attend Avara’s Academy of Hair Design in March 2014 and graduated in April of 2015.Lo has developed a keen eye over the years for men’s grooming and is an expert on what styles suit different face shapes. His overall goal is to educate barbers on how they can consult their clients on maintaining a proper grooming regime at home. Lo has a wide breadth of knowledge of various men’s hair and skin products in the marketplace today, and can help barbers educate their client’s chose what is best for their own personal needs.
Jessica “Jess” McFadden co-founder of Md Barber and Stylists, LLC and A Shade Above Unisex Barbershop and Beauty Salon. Jess completed her education in barbering from Avara’s Academy of Hair Design. . In order to perfect her craft as a “licensed” barber she has trained with industry leaders and has taken classes at the Paul Mitchell and Graham Webb academy in areas of that include cut, color, and client experience. Jess offers each of her clients a unique treatment, personalized to suit their hair and skin needs specializing in straight razor shaves, facial hair trimming and shaping, haircuts, skin services and overall grooming.
While she is relatively new to the Industry, she has fearlessly taken the ground running to learn and extend services beyond barbering. Jess has competed in hair wars placing 3rd in team category as well as received best overall production. Jess firing passion for what she does gives her that something special that can compete with industry legends.
